Last week, while suffering from the flu, Zach offered to make soup for dinner. He’s so good to me! But that isn’t what I was thinking when I walked through the kitchen and noticed the ingredients he had chosen: deer tenderloin, sauerkraut, 1 onion, and a bottle of whiskey. What kind of soup could this man possibly be making? I took a hot shower, dreading the meal to come. He served me dinner in the recliner and much to my surprise, it smelled delicious! And sure enough, there was sauerkraut in the broth. Who ever thought sauerkraut in soup was a good idea? Not me. Maintaining a straight face, I ate a spoonful. BEST DEER MEAT SOUP EVER! It’s like French Onion Soup with a tang and venison! YUM!
